Department of Building officials have been on the scene of the collapse on 10th Avenue since Monday and are working to remove the fire-damaged crane.

Video shows crane collapse from high-rise building in Manhattan
Authorities say that over the next few days, contractors will be carefully removing counterweights and the A frame of the crane.
Work is expected to continue from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
During those hours, crews will close some of the lanes on West 41st Street between 10th and Dyer avenues.
Drivers should expect lane closures and delays around the tunnel during those hours, especially at the inbound lanes.
After 1 p.m., contractors will reopen the closed lanes for the evening rush.
The DOB will continue to have inspectors on scene throughout the week observing the recovery operations.
