The 2nd-alarm fire was reported Monday evening at a building on Avenue A.

The fire appeared to burn in a store on the first floor.
There were at least 100 firefighters on the scene before the fire was placed under control by 5:45 p.m.
So far no injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The fire comes one day after the devastating fire in the Bronx that left 17 people dead and dozens injured.
