The toll increase as well as fare hikes on MTA's subways and buses were adopted by the MTA Board on July 19.
The agency says the fare hikes were set to go into effect back in 2021, but were temporarily put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The toll and fare increases are projected to generate $117 million in 2023 alone.
