NEW YORK (WABC) -- Eyewitness News brings you an important and informative program to help get you ready for the upcoming 2024 election.

Over the course of our program, we explain the platforms of Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. We also examine how they would govern if elected.

We hope to help you know exactly who and what you'll be voting for when you cast your ballot.

In the meantime, early voting is underway across the Tri-State area. More than 140,000 people voted in New York City on Saturday, making it the city's highest early voting on day 1 voter turnout ever.

Also on our special, we look at those hotly-contested congressional races in the Tri-State area that will determine the balance of power in the House and Senate.

Among those competitive races includes the one for New York's 17th Congressional District. Republican incumbent Mike Lawler faces a re-election challenge against former Congressman and Democrat challenger Mondaire Jones.

We also invite you to watch this weekend's editions of Up Close, Tiempo, and Here & Now. All three programs were focused on the election.

On Up Close with Bill Ritter, we examine the race in New York's 4th Congressional District between Anthony D'Esposito and Laura Gillen:

On Long Island, three of the four districts, including parts of Nassau and Suffolk, are controlled by Republicans. In the traditionally blue Northeast, Democrats think they can flip some of those seats.

Joe Torres looks at the key issues important to Latino voters ahead of the 2024 presidential election in this special edition of Tiempo:
