It happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the Rescue Spa beauty salon on East 19th Street.

Authorities say the three unknown individuals first attempted to enter the location via a secondary entrance door that was locked before entering through the front door.

Once inside, the individuals began removing items from shelves and attempted to leave the establishment without paying for the merchandise.

Brazen spa robbery caught on camera
When a female employee at the location attempted to stop them, she was kicked in the groin, causing minor pain.
The robbers then fled the scene.
"While this was certainly an unfortunate incident, we are so grateful no one was injured and for the way in which our local police in the 13th Precinct have handled our case," spa ownership said in a statement. "They responded very quickly, opened an investigation immediately, increased patrols in the area and have been providing us with regular updates. We have been very impressed with their professionalism and dedication in apprehending these cowardly criminals. We love NYC and we are so glad to see how well the city is recovering after the pandemic and we look forward to continuing to welcome our wonderful clients back for services."
The total approximate value of property removed is $3,129.
