Water main break at Penn Station under control after flooding
A water main break that caused flooding at Penn Station is now under control.

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- A plumbing issue, and not a water main break, caused flooding at Penn Station late Saturday, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection said.

It was initially suspected that a water main break caused the flow of water that pooled in part of the station.

The FDNY said the water was brought under control just before 11:30 p.m.

The flooding did not impact LIRR trains.

No injuries were reported.
