9 firefighters, 3 police officers injured in Queens fire

ELMHURST, Queens (WABC) -- Nine firefighters and three police officers were injured in a five-alarm fire in Queens.

The flames broke out inside a mid-rise building on Denman Street in Elmhurst.

The extent of the injuries to the firefighters and police officers is unknown. Two others were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
