One Charge Trip: Newport, Rhode Island

RHODE ISLAND (WABC) -- While summer may be unofficially over, there's still plenty of time for a weekend getaway while the weather is nice.

Dani Beckstrom is hitting the road again, this time heading out of the state to Newport, Rhode Island.

Dani's first stop is Flo's Clam Shack, which has been a staple in Newport for nearly 90 years. Afterwards, she finds a moment of Zen on Newport's 3.5-mile cliff walk, offering panoramic ocean views on one side and gilded-age mansions on the other.

She then heads to Brick Marketplace, where visitors can view hundreds of tie-dye umbrellas floating above the shops and restaurants below, part of a popular art installation in Newport open through the fall. Dani then heads to her final destination: The Chanler Hotel.
