NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- New York City apartments aren't always the biggest, but subway riders might want to make room for a piece of history.
New York City Transit is auctioning some of its MetroCard vending machines.
The colorful behemoths debuted in 1999, but they're obsolete now that the MetroCard is retired.
As a disclaimer - you should know the vending machines weigh over a thousand pounds, and transportation is the new owners' responsibility.
The MTA says that before submitting an offer, you should review the listing and terms and conditions, confirm you'd be able to arrange pickup within 10 days, be prepared to submit payment on the day you're notified that your bid is successful and complete all required fields on the bidding form.
If you're interested, online bidding is now live through Wednesday, August 19 at 8 p.m.
You can submit a bid by filling out this form.
