NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- As New Jersey prepares to welcome over a million visitors for the World Cup this summer, NJ Transit is launching a major safety initiative to combat human trafficking, something the agency says is not easy to spot.
FIFA is bringing eight games to MetLife Stadium beginning June 13. Millions of soccer fans in the U.S. and visitors from overseas are expected to descend on New Jersey for the games and festivities.
NJ Transit has been preparing for the crowds, but it's going beyond just increasing the numbers of trains and buses, it's also focused on preventing human trafficking.
At Newark Penn Station, which is expected to be a hub for transportation to the games, the transit agency unveiled an example of getting its message out.
