Police release photo of suspected car in hit-and-run crash injuring 2 teens in North Bellport

NORTH BELLPORT, Long Island (WABC) -- Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives have released an image of the car they are searching for in connection to a hit and run in North Bellport on Friday night.

Police say two teenagers were walking eastbound across Station Road at the intersection of Patchogue Avenue when a white, midsize Jeep SUV hit them at 9:38 p.m.

The vehicle then fled south toward Montauk Highway, police said.

D'Ajiah Mitchell, 15, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

Kevin Reese, 14, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital - Suffolk County with minor injuries.

Police believe the car sustained damage to the front left corner, including the headlight.
