Pope Leo XIV meets with Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey

Pope Leo XIV met Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey in St. Peter's Basilica on Wednesday.

McConaughey attended the Pope's weekly audience together with his wife, Camila Alves.

Following the audience the Pope approached the two and greeted them warmly. McConaughey chatted briefly with the pontiff before Leo moved on to greet others.

McConaughey won an Oscar for best actor in 2014 for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club."
