PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (WABC) -- A water main break is causing problems for commuters and residents in the Westchester County town of Pleasantville.

The main broke late Sunday night at the corner of Marble and Castleton Avenues.

It created a ten-foot deep sinkhole and compromised gas lines.

Police found the break and the surrounding sinkhole after receiving reports of low water pressure.

The Department of Public Works was able to complete the repair of the main on Monday evening and said that all impacted water customers should have their water back Monday night.

Marble Avenue remains closed from Irvington Street to Sunnyside Avenue as repairs to the road continue.

Traffic detours are expected to remain in place for several days so that crews can restore the subsurface and the roadway.
