Sandy Kenyon reviews 'American Ultra,' 'Hitman: Agent 47'
Are they worth seeing? Sandy Kenyon lets you know!

NEW YORK (WABC) -- As we head into one of last weekends of summer, you may be better of enjoying the great outdoors rather than heading to the movies.

Two new movies -- "American Ultra" and "Hitman: Agent 47" -- hit theaters, and one of them may be the worst of the year.

"American Ultra" an ultra-violent movie that can't decide what it wants to be. Whether it is intended as a satire or something more serious is unclear.

In the film, Jesse Eisenberg plays a stoner who is actually a CIA agent. He's also a trained killer, but he doesn't know it.

While his character waits to be "activated," he has Kristin Stewart to keep him company. But their lives are disrupted when the agency seeks to terminate him.

His old handler, played by Connie Britton, of ABC's "Nashville," tries to help him, along with old pal John Leguizamo.

Watching these talents is always interesting, but not enough to recommend seeing the film.

The other new movie, "Hitman: Agent 47," is easily one of the worst of the year.

The studio released it at the end of the summer, hoping critics wouldn't notice, but save your money or go see the excellent "Straight Outta Compton," which is still in theaters.
