How social media is changing Viola Davis' job
Sandy Kenyon has the story, and more on this week's TGIT lineup.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Last week, some nine million people said "T.G.I.T" and tuned into the new episode of "How To Get Away With Murder".

Now, as the all-new episodes continue, we spoke with the show's star for a look at how social media is changing her job.

Viola Davis is so dedicated she once spent four months preparing for eight minutes of screen time. But it paid off when she earned an Oscar nomination for "Doubt".

So you may be surprised to hear that she's picked up a thing or two from her younger co-stars.

Viola sure knows how to hold our attention, and the young performers who play her law students will tell you they've all learned so much from her.

But as defense attorney Annalise Keating goes about teaching them "How To Get Away With Murder", the woman who plays her has also learned from them.

"They're having fun. With me, I worry. I worry about everything. I worry so much I don't take the time to understand that this is a moment in life that I have to embrace. This is great," said Davis.

Unlike their characters on the show, who seem very worried, these actors aren't stressing out.

"I'll say 'Hey what about this? What about that?' They look at me like I'm crazy!", Viola said.

And they help her navigate the world of social media.

"Because I'm not hip to it. Some people know what to tweet. I've tweeted many times by accident because I just press the button when I should not have," she said.

For Davis, who is famous for the focus she brings to big scenes, Twitter has a downside.

"Sometimes it's a distraction," she said.

But like all of the T.G.I.T shows, live tweeting during "How To Get Away With Murder" has become part of the experience for so many fans, and Thursday night they're sure to be talking about a new character: the sister of the dead man.

We know Annalise Keating's husband is dead and she knows who killed him. But so far the police are in the dark and the sister is the new wild card. That's bound to be interesting because the new character is played by Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden.
