7 NEW things you can expect on Long Beach

LONG BEACH, N.Y. (WABC) -- On Long Beach, the heat couldn't come soon enough for eager beachgoers.

Eyewitness News has 7 new things you can expect on Long Beach this season!

1) New bathrooms on the boardwalk

2) Bocce Ball with tournaments near the mini golf

3) Movie Theater is set to reopen in the coming days. It hasn't been open since Superstorm Sandy.

"With those nice fancy seats where you can reserve your seats beforehand, and it ought to be a great addition for the summer," said Jack Schnirman, the Long Beach City Manager.

4) An additional trolley on weekends

5) People can watch four concerts in Long Beach per week instead of three

6) A new bike share program

7) Additional food carts

The food carts are being called the "Shoregesboard!" There is everything from Hawaiian food to surf and turf extraordinaire.

"We take a lobster tail, we double wrap it in bacon, and then we deep fry it," said Jacob Wright, of "Taco Tuesdays".

"It's something that the Village Voice has called, 'A Developing Food Scene' here in Long Beach," Schnirman said.
