FREEPORT, Long Island (WABC) -- A mother is rattled after two masked men burst into her Long Island home, ordered her at gunpoint to get on the floor and then went after her two sons.

Police say the incident happened just after midnight at the family's home on Casino Street in Freeport.

The suspects were reportedly armed when they pushed the woman's 21-year-old son into the home, pistol-whipped him in the face and demanded money.

Hearing the commotion, the woman's 25-year-old son then came downstairs and was shot in the leg as he tried to run out the door.

The suspects fled on foot, without taking anything.

The victims were taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital with injuries believed to be non life threatening.

No arrests were immediately made.
