BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (WABC) -- The mother of an 11-year-old girl with autism in Brooklyn is outraged and demanding answers.

She says a school bus driver dropped off her daughter before school opened and left her alone in the rain.

Rasheeda White says she put her daughter Ciane on the "Y&M Transport" school bus on Friday.

But, the bus arrived 40 minutes early at MS 266, which is on the campus of PS 93 in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section.

White says her little girl was left without adult supervision.

"Hopefully I am a voice for other parents that this may happen to and maybe things will change," White said.

The Department of Education gave Eyewitness News a statement saying in part: "Nothing is more important than the safety and security of all students and staff. We are investigating this very serious allegation and will ensure that it's addressed appropriately."

White says she wants to know more about the protocol and how it was followed.
