Sade Baderinwa has the story.

A teen competed in the Connecticut State Tennis Final just months after having heart surgery.

Steven Dampf is a junior at Weston High School.

He was born with bicuspid aortic valve disease, and when he was 10 it caused an aneurysm.

It got so big, he had to get surgery in December, and thought he wouldn't be able to get back to the court this year.

"I was thinking this was going to affect me much more than it did," Dampf said. "I just had to get back to it. I missed it too much to just not play. Just stay determined and don't let stuff like this bring you down."

Unfortunately Dampf and his partner did lose Thursday night, but says he's happy he made it this far.
