The NYPD is searching for a man who tried to steal an MTA officer's gun last month at a Brooklyn subway station.

Police say the suspect approached the 47 year-old male victim, an on-duty MTA Collecting Agent, inside the Sutter Avenue "L" subway station on June 11.

He attempted to remove his service weapon from its holster.

The agent fought off the man, who then fled through the station in an unknown direction.

The agent was providing security for an MTA technician who was performing maintenance on an MTA Metrocard vending machine.

The NYPD identified the suspect as 24-year-old Rodney Duncan, 5'9", 185lbs, brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black sweatpants with white stripes and black sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
