Woman struck and injured by falling security gate outside store in Queens

KEW GARDENS, Queens (WABC) -- A security gate fell and struck a woman right outside a store in Queens.

Investigators say the 63-year-old was rushed to the hospital in serious but stable condition with pain to her head and shoulders.

The accident happened Friday on 147th Street and Union Turnpike in Kew Gardens.

The Fire Department has requested a structural stability inspection.

The Department of Buildings is investigating.
