Police have made an arrest in the shooting of a 9-year-old girl and two others at a pizzeria in Westchester County Friday night.

The District Attorney's Office confirms that the suspect is 15 years old, and he is charged with first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. No word yet if the teen will be charged as a child or an adult.

The girl and a 31-year-old woman from Yonkers were hit around 6 p.m. at a pizzeria on Palisade Avenue, according to the Yonkers Police Department. A 28-year-old man was hit in the leg and is in the hospital in stable condition. The young girl, shot in the chest, was in in critical condition. The woman was treated for an arm wound and released.

The shooting has the community on edge.

"It's crazy. Shootings gotta stop. Killing innocent kids. No chance to live their lives because nobody wants to do anything with theirs."

Surveillance video shows that a confrontation at a nearby deli may have sparked the shooting, which occurred near downtown.

The video shows a group of three men outside the deli. One man points a gun inside the store, then leaves the frame as patrons run from the business. The shooting took place up block in a pizzeria.

The owner of the pizzeria said Friday night that he heard eight or nine shots fired outside the store, and at least five went through the window. He said it's the third time in two and a half years that bullets have come through the window of his restaurant.

This corner of Palisade ave. and New School street is known for drug and gang problems. The mayor this weekend promised more police presence.
