MORRISANIA, Bronx (WABC) -- A 19-year-old was charged with firing a BB gun from the roof of his Bronx apartment building, striking a 10-year-old girl in the arm at the school across the street.

Anfernee Olivo, of the Bronx, is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds and reckless endangerment.

Olivo is accused of firing shots from the rooftop of his Bronx apartment building. The BB gun was recovered.

The victim, Lia Urena, was sitting in her classroom at Mott Hall Charter School in the Morrisania section Wednesday when she was suddenly shot.

The first shot fired from the roof of a building, just two doors down from the school, hit the floor of the classroom. The second hit her.

Urena spent the next several hours in the hospital with her mom.
