Police: Man in Central Park offered 11-year-old boy for sex
Kemberly Richardson has the details from Central Park.

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A section of Central Park was searched after a tourist reported that a man offered him an 11-year-old boy for sex Thursday night.

Police searched the area of Central Park near the Bow Bridge on West 74th Street on the west side.

The 50-year-old tourist from California said he was approached by the suspect and the boy around 11:50 p.m.

He said the man asked him if he wanted to have sex with the boy for $300. The tourist said no, left the park and called 911.

It appeared that the man was the boy's father.

Police responded with a search of the park. They will also look at surveillance cameras to see if the two were captured on video.

No arrests have been made. At this point, this entire seedy ordeal is being treated as credible, but some Eyewitness News spoke with wonder why the tourist simply walked away from the man and the child.

The man was described as having dark hair, clean shaven, wearing a black coat with a furry hood and blue jeans.

The child was wearing a distinctive orange or red jacket, described as being lightweight and spring-like.
