Woman accused of leaving racist messages at Amityville church on Long Island

Police arrested a woman Thursday accused of leaving racist messages at a church in Amityville.

Elisa Pellino, 66, was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment as a hate crime.

On Wednesday, the pastor of the New Hope Institutional Baptist Church on Harrison Avenue called Suffolk County Police to report a racist and alarming telephone message left at the church.

Pellino was arrested at her home in Farmingdale around 6 p.m.

She is scheduled for arraignment July 3.
