Woman choked during attempted rape in Midtown

MIDTOWN (WABC) -- Police are searching for a suspect in a violent attempted rape in Midtown.

It happened on Friday, October 3rd inside the Flaming Saddles Bar on 9th Avenue at 53rd Street around 10:35 p.m.

The 34-year-old victim was exiting the restroom when she was confronted by the suspect who choked her until she lost consciousness.

He then threw her to the ground and removed her underwear.

The suspect was interrupted by security and he fled the scene.

The suspect is described as 35-45 years old, 5'2"-5'4" tall, 135-155 lbs, with dreadlocks, wearing a black hat, black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black and white sneakers.
