NEW YORK (WABC) -- It's always been a tenuous relationship between the NYPD and New York City mayors, especially during contract negotiations. But the city is now seeing a divide it hasn't seen in decades.

Many officers feel betrayed by the city they serve. Tensions have increased after the fatal shootings of 2 NYPD officers.

Joining us this week is Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, who spent 22 years as a New York City police officer.

He went on to become a New York State Senator before becoming the first African-American to hold the office of Brooklyn Borough President.

The charisma, humility and actions of Pope Francis have made him one of the most popular and powerful figures in the world.

He has millions of followers on Twitter, and more people are not only flocking to the Vatican to see him, but attendance at many Catholic churches has gone up.

The Vatican has announced that the Pope will visit Philadelphia next year, and there is hope he will make a stop in New York City.

Joining us are Monsignor Raymond Kupke from Seton Hall University, who is also a pastor at St. Anthony's Parish in Hawthorne, New Jersey, and Sister Camille D'Arienzo from the Sisters of mercy, who has been outspoken about the role of women in the church.

Also this week, while casinos in Atlantic City are hurting, Governor Cuomo is hoping new casinos will create new jobs in New York state, after a panel chose three sites upstate.
