'Amityville Horror' house sells for less than asking price

AMITYVILLE, Long Island (WABC) -- The 'Amityville Horror' house is once again off the market, but it sold for far less than expected.

According to real estate records, the house on Long Island that inspired the book and movies sold for $605,000 this week - that's more than $200,000 less than the asking price.

The five-bedroom house was put up for sale in June.

At one time, the infamous house was listed for more than a million dollars.
