Candice Wiggins signs with Liberty

NEW YORK -- Free-agent guard Candice Wiggins signed with the New York Liberty on Monday.

Wiggins, a seven-year veteran of the league, has averaged 9.6 points in her career while playing for Minnesota, Tulsa and Los Angeles.

Her best season was her rookie year when she was the third overall pick by the Lynx in 2008. She averaged 15.7 points and was the league's sixth woman of the year.

The Stanford graduate played in 17 games for Los Angeles last season.
