The New York Islanders will have to continue their push for a playoff berth without winger Ryan Strome, who is out indefinitely with a broken wrist.

Interim coach Doug Weight said Thursday that Strome, 23, could miss between two and 16 weeks with the injury.

The fifth overall pick in the 2011 NHL draft, Strome is sixth on the Islanders in scoring with 30 points. Strome has 13 goals including two game-winners.

The Islanders began play on Thursday two points out of the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference with 10 games remaining in their regular season.
