SHEEPSHEAD BAY (WABC) -- Some residents in Brooklyn are upset about a new speed camera that's automatically issuing hundreds of tickets every day.

The speed enforcement camera is stationed at the base of a Belt Parkway exit ramp near Ocean Parkway in Sheepshead Bay.

It's triggered by any vehicle going faster than 10 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.

The problem, drivers say, is that cars are still traveling at highway speed as they exit the roadway.

The ramp funnels cars out near a school, where an employee says the camera has made the situation safer.

Still, drivers feel it's a speed trap. They are calling for the Department of Transportation to at least put up signs warning that there is a speed camera in the area.
