2 teens riding e-scooter in custody after colliding with NYPD vehicle
The collision happened around 7:30 p.m. on 101st Street and Northern Boulevard.

QUEENS, New York (WABC) -- Two teens riding an e-scooter were taken into custody after colliding with a police vehicle in Queens on Thursday.

The collision happened around 7:30 p.m. on 101st Street and Northern Boulevard.

Officers were traveling eastbound on Northern Boulevard in a marked vehicle when it collided with a motorized scooter traveling westbound.

The scooter was occupied by two 14-year-old boys. They were taken to Elmhurst Hospital and are in police custody.

Two NYPD officers were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.

It's not clear yet their conditions.

A source told Eyewitness News that the scooter was involved in an earlier incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
