Liam Fitzgerald, 8, implodes into pure joy as every player takes a moment to make his day, on Nov. 4, when the Bruins had a 2-1 victory over the Florida Panthers. Though, Liam's story with the Bruins goes far beyond this week.

Little Liam happens to be one of toughest hockey fans, with a lifelong love of the Bruins. According to Boston.com, Liam has been afflicted with Down Syndrome and had battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since he was four. Fortunately, Liam beat the cancer back after an intense three and a half years. But soon enough, Liam will undergo daily hormone therapy until he reaches the age of 18.

Throughout Liam's significant trials, the Bruins have given him an enormous amount of delight and support. After dressing as Adam McQuaid for Halloween in 2013, the Bruins defenseman invited Liam and his family as his guests to a game this February. There, Liam met Milan Lucic, Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, Johnny Boychuk and Shawn Thornton.

"(It's) not the attention, it's the smile they bring to his face," his mom, Christine Fitzgerald, told Boston.com. "I watch what (the Bruins) do at Children's Hospital. The athletes take the gift they have of their fame down to a personal level. It goes beyond their hockey skill set and shows they are human. Giving back. Sharing their gift with others."

A tweet from Liam's mother, Christine:

"People tell us he's so cute, and this and that. He was given to us to raise and given to the world to love. He brings joy to people. There's something about him that draws people him. His smile, his personality. He's just such a joyful person. He's taught us a lot about life," Christine Fitzgerald said.
