New app takes kids on virtual visit to Santa
A.J. Ross has the story of an interactive journey to the North Pole.

YONKERS (WABC) -- Kids are so tech-savvy these days that one holiday experience is tapping into that.

It revamps the visit to Santa, making it truly interactive.

Talk about bringing an old tradition into the new age.

Gone are the days of long lines for a quick photo with Santa, with the launch of Dreamworks' interactive North Pole Adventure and a cast of new helpers, including Shrek.

This cutting edge technology, which was used on the outside of a cottage at Westchester's Ridge Hill, is just a preview of what kids experience inside along a thrilling fifteen minute journey to the North Pole.

With the help of Shrek and tablets they're able to design their own sleigh and go on a magical ride, with the grand finale of course being a one on one with Kris Kringle himself.

Worried about long lines? Well the Dreamworks DreamPlace app has you covered so parents can schedule a specific times and even pass along Christmas lists.

So kids, make sure you stay off the naughty list this year so you can be one of the first to experience this one of a kind adventure.
