Driver killed in Commack crash
A driver was killed in a crash in Suffolk County.

COMMACK, Long Island (WABC) -- A driver was killed early Sunday in a crash in Suffolk County.

Police say a car was speeding when it crashed and flipped into a restaurant on Jericho Turnpike in Commack, sparking a fire.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Casa Luis restaurant was seriously damaged.

About 75 firefighters responded to the fire and had it under control within an hour.

Police say there were people living in an apartment above the restaurant but they were able to get out in time.
