NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police are looking for the man who robbed a trendy Upper East Side jewelry store last week, and they are hoping surveillance video and a sketch will lead to an arrest.

The suspect, in an argyle sweater and a Brooklyn Nets cap, spent a good 20 minutes inside Margo Manhattan on Madison Avenue and East 88th Street on Friday afternoon. The store manager helped him shop around, checking out some of the owner's signature pieces.

"We let him in, he posed as a shopper, and he was here for quite a while," Margo said.

The suspect then brought the 53-year-old manager to the back room and put her into a chokehold, dragging her around and leaving her on the floor.

Then, he cleaned out the safe and stole an 18-karat white gold necklace with amethyst worth $45,000, as well as an entire collection of inter-locking rings.

Each ring is worth more than $500 and is a favorite of celebrities like Selena Gomez. The suspect also took a silver chain and pendant worth more than $2,000, which Beyonc chose to wear in her video "Blow."

On his way out, he kicked Margo's security dog, which is just a puppy.

Margo tells her employees that in the event of a robbery, give up the goods because a life is more important. She is mindful of a fatal robbery just 10 blocks away at another Madison Avenue jewelry store.

"Oh God, when you think about it, that's just terrible," she said. "That's why I say to my employees, listen, they want the stuff, give them the stuff. I mean, your life's worth more than anything else."

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
