Disney CEO rings opening bell for NYSE

Disney is announcing what audiences will see in the company's future at the 2026 Disney Upfront presentation in New York City today.

Ahead of the event, there was a special opening for the New York Stock Exchange.

Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro rang the opening bell in celebration of the big Disney Upfront event, which will give you a preview of the new TV and streaming shows coming in the next year.

'The Shards' and 'Count My Lies' announced at Disney Upfront

Two new series were announced at the 2026 Disney Upfront: "The Shards" for FX and "Count My Lies" for Hulu.

"The Shards," featuring Homer Gere and Igby Rigney is a thriller set in Los Angeles in the '80s, co-created by Ryan Murphy and Bret Easton Ellis.

Shailene Woodley, Kit Harrington and Lindsay Lohan appeared on stage to introduce their new show, "Count My Lies," which follows a nanny to a couple, as dangerous secrets begin to unravel.

Faceless dancers brought the drama while clips from Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story" played at the Disney Upfront.
