Heavy snow in Nyack

Snow piled up to kneehigh levels in spots of Nyack, with plows making only occasional passes through the main streets. One man who had been shoveling since morning said the snow feels "wetter than before," making cleanup even tougher.

Most businesses remain closed, with the rare exception of a local pizza shop that opened its doors to offer warm drinks and a quick break for snowplow crews. Outside of a grocery store, nearly everything else in the area has shut down as conditions deteriorate.
