UNIFIL accuses Israeli soldiers of destroying cameras outside headquarters in south Lebanon

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon has accused Israeli soldiers of destroying security cameras outside UNIFIL's headquarters in the southern town of Naqoura, near Lebanon's border with Israel.

Kandice Ardiel, spokesperson for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, alleged that since Friday, Israeli troops had destroyed all of the cameras facing Minghy Street.

"These cameras were positioned to only show the immediate vicinity of our headquarters to ensure the safety and security of the military and civilian peacekeepers living and working inside," Ardiel wrote in a series of posts on X on Saturday. "We have expressed our serious concern about this to the Israel Defense Forces and will formally protest their actions. We remind them of their obligation to ensure the safety and security of United Nations personnel and to respect the inviolability of UN premises."

ABC News has reached out to the Israeli military for comment.
