PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. -- The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of "Today" host Savannah Guthrie, began after she was abducted from her home near Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday, Feb. 1, authorities said.

The Guthrie family has made multiple public pleas for any information surrounding their missing mother.

On Feb. 10, the FBI released an updated missing person poster that includes images of a potential subject from newly released doorbell camera video.

Investigators believe Nancy Guthrie was abducted in her sleep early on Feb. 1, according to the sheriff's department.

1:47 a.m.: Nancy Guthrie's doorbell camera disconnected, the sheriff said.

2:12 a.m.: The camera software detected a person on camera, but no video is available, the sheriff said.

11:56 a.m.: Relatives responded to Nancy Guthrie's home and discovered she was missing, the sheriff said.

12:03 p.m.: The family called 911, the sheriff said.

Woman says authorities searched her Rio Rico, Arizona home

Investigators spent hours conducting a court-authorized search at a location they said was connected to the individual who was detained for a few hours for questioning during a traffic stop Tuesday.

A woman told reporters that her daughter's husband, who works as a delivery driver in Tucson, was a target of Tuesday's search in Rio Rico. Investigators converged on her residence.

"They're going in and out of my house taking a lot of pictures and everything," the woman told reporters. "Like I told them, we're not hiding anything."

She said authorities searched her home after they received a tip related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.

The man was later released.

Person released as search for 'armed individual' continues

The Pima County Sheriff's Department, with assistance from the FBI, detained and released an individual after questioning them in connection with the abduction of Nancy Guthrie, a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation told ABC News.

The individual was detained in a location south of Tucson, the source said, and law enforcement searched a location associated with the individual.

In a statement on social media, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said deputies "detained a subject during a traffic stop."

A court-authorized search was carried out by the sheriff's department, with assistance of the FBI's Evidence Response Team, at a location in Rio Rico, Arizona, about 60 miles south of Tucson, related to the investigation, the department said. The operation was expected to last several hours, according to the department.

Person detained for questioning in Guthrie case

The Pima County Sheriff's Department, with assistance from the FBI, has detained an individual for questioning in connection with the abduction of Nancy Guthrie, a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation told ABC News.

The individual was detained in a location south of Tucson, the source said, and law enforcement is preparing to search a location associated with the individual.

The development followed the first images released of a masked man approaching Nancy Guthrie's front door and as investigators continued to search in her neighborhood.

President Trump has reviewed new security video

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Donald Trump was briefed on the latest details in the case and was reviewing the video footage posted online by Patel.

"We're just praying for the safety of Nancy Guthrie and that she will return home soon. And the President directed me to please encourage all Americans with any information to call the FBI, and we hope that this case will come to a positive resolution as soon as possible," Leavitt said.
