NEW YORK (WABC) -- Brutal cold continues across New York City and the Tri-State area, with bone-chilling wind chills dipping as low as 5 to 10 degrees below zero in some spots.
Cold weather advisories remain in effect, with frostbite possible on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
While daytime temperatures may briefly approach the freezing mark this week, strong winds are making it feel far colder.
Black ice, flurries, and another potential blast of Arctic cold heading into next weekend mean winter hazards are far from over.
Bundle up, limit time outdoors, and stay weather-aware.

With temperatures dropping and the wind expected to pick up, advocates for the homeless are working to make sure those who need help get it.
The concern is heightened after 10 deaths in New York City now possibly linked to the winter weather.
The Salvation Army was out at Washington Square Park on Tuesday to offer assistance and hand out supplies.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani says at least 10 New Yorkers are dead after being found outdoors.
"At east 10 New Yorkers have tragically lost their lives after being found outdoors," Mamdani said. "We don't yet know if every case will be ruled hypothermia, but we need every New Yorker to be out on alert, looking after their neighbors."
Across the country, 1,457 flights are cancelled so far today. LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is one of the hardest-hit airports, along with Dallas and Boston airports.
American Airlines says this weekend's storm has been the most disruptive storm in American Airlines' 100-year history.
American Airlines has cancelled more than 9,000 flights -- that's around 25% of their total flights -- and the company expects impacts to be felt for two more days.
