Make-A-Wish, along with the NFL and Fanatics, is granting the wishes of 24 youth to go to the Super Bowl.

You could feel the happiness as the youth entered the Lids store at Pier 39 in San Francisco Friday.

Make-A-Wish, along with the NFL and Fanatics, is granting the wishes of 24 youth to go to the Super Bowl, complete with unforgettable experiences like a shopping spree to gear up for the big game.

And part of the surprise: Jaguars player, Cam Little, and Arik Armstead, a former San Francisco 49ers, along with Penei Sewell, of the Detroit Lions, made an appearance.

The children are from all over the U.S.

It just wouldn't feel like the Super Bowl for these three octogenarians if they weren't all there. And this might be the last time they all do it.

Alexander Rodriguez, 16, of Stockton, is now cancer-free after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.

When asked what it was like to see the players, Rodriguez said, "Great, I feel special."

On this Friday night, Tom Brady made a special appearance at his new CardVault store directly across from Oracle Park.

Patriots fans love Tom Brady -- a seven-time Super Bowl champion. Many say he's the greatest of all time quarterback in the NFL.

The San Mateo-born and raised player spent much of his career with the New England Patriots.

With the Patriots in the Super Bowl again this year, this time going head-to-head against the Seattle Seahawks, there's a lot of excitement in the air.

"It's going to be a really great game. We're excited," said Terry Fletcher of Kirland, Washington.

"Everyone (has the) Hawks winning by 4 points. I say 10," said Jerry Pomery of Auburn, Washington.

"It's a scary match up. But I believe in the team," said Hulisis Barcelo, a Patriots fan and Hayward resident.

On this Friday night, Tom Brady made a special appearance at his new CardVault store directly across from Oracle Park.

Friday night was the big ribbon cutting.

Doris Mroz of San Mateo was there front and center and has been a Brady fan for awhile.

"I'm a huge Tom Brady fan. He's from our area. I'm from San Mateo. I was hoping he'd give me an autograph so. But it's all good. I'm so happy to be here," said Mroz. "I'm happy for the Patriots to be back there. Hopefully they're going to get it this time."

Even Seahawks fans realize the greatness of former quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots' stellar record.

"They got 6 Super Bowl rings already. You got to give them credit for that. But Seattle is coming in hot. And we're going to take the opportunity for that one," said Joey Nelson of Spokane.

"I think we have to redeem ourselves from the last time. We played the Patriots and we lost on the one yard line," said Reed Bumgarner of Washington State.

All that aside, many Hawks fans say they'd be amazed if they could meet Brady in the flesh.

"I would like to meet him. He is a legend," said Lorie Staples of Bellevue, Washington.

"I'd try and shake his hand. Or at least say congratulations. He's a legend," said Bumgarner.

No matter what team they're cheering for, sports fans agree the Super Bowl in the Bay Area means new opportunities like the CardVault store for San Francisco.

That's what three old friends were coming to grips with just before this year's Super Bowl. The trio of octogenarians are the only fans left in the exclusive "never missed a Super Bowl" club.

Don Crisman of Maine, Gregory Eaton of Michigan and Tom Henschel of Florida were back for another big game this year. But two of them are grappling with the fact that advancing years and decreasing mobility mean this is probably the last time.

This year's game pits the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday. Crisman, a Patriots fan since the franchise started, was excited to see his team in the game for a record-setting 12th time.

"This will definitely be the final one," said Crisman, who made the trip with his daughter, Susan Metevier. "We made it to 60."

Santa Clara County is already one of the safest big counties in the country. But on Super Sunday, Levi's Stadium specifically will be one of the most secure places in the world. At the South Bay Regional Coordination Center, intelligence analysts and special agents are working with state and local partners on safety coordination for FBI specialty teams, bomb technicians, unmanned aerial surveillance and more. While the fans are enjoying the Super Bowl experience, the FBI will be in full force.

"There are a number of events now, so we're working very closely with San Francisco Police Department, with the Santa Clara Police Department," Agent Virmani said. "And as the events have grown in size and now in different parts of the Bay Area, we have to be able to work together with those partners, to be able to ensure that everyone is able to attend those events in a safe manner. Our goal is for the public to be able to enjoy this event in a safe and confident manner while we worry and focus on the safety."
