Greenburgh hit and run leaves 23-year-old pedestrian dead

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police in Greenburgh announced that they are now offering a reward for information that leads them to a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a pedestrian Tuesday morning.

New York State Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for a hit-and-run that occurred in Greenburgh, N.Y.

The body of 23-year-old Darryl Chung was found on a front lawn by the side of South Road around 6 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chung, who was walking home after working overnight, had recently moved to the area from Mount Vernon.

The family also lived on South Road, and Chung's distraught mother was being consoled at the scene.

Detectives processed the scene for hours, collecting evidence and trying to reconstruct the accident.

Police don't have much of a description of the vehicle, but they are looking for a car with possible front-end damage.
