1 dead, 5 others hurt after fight at club in Fordham section of the Bronx

FORDHAM (WABC) -- Police are investigating an assault outside a club in the Bronx early Sunday that left one man dead and five others injured.

The violence erupted after an altercation at about 4 a.m. at Club Extreme on Valentine Avenue in the Fordham section.

A fight that began inside the club spilled out into the streets and ended in gunfire.

Police say three men were shot. 24-year old Dennis Rodriguez died after being shot in the torso.

A 21-year old shot in the head is in critical condition while another 21-year old, shot in the leg, is in stable condition.

Two other men were slashed, one in the face and the other in the torso, and another was hit in the head and torso with a baseball bat. All are in stable condition.

All of the victims were taken to Saint Barnabus Hospital.

The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored minivan, authorities say.
