Man dies in police custody at Kings County Criminal Court in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) -- A man died in police custody at a holding cell in Brooklyn Friday night, according to the NYPD.

The death happened at the Kings County Criminal Courthouse.

Police say the 46-year-old man suffered a medical episode and was found unconscious and unresponsive after 10 p.m.

Police have not released his name or said why he was in custody.

The Medical Examiner will determine his exact cause of death.
