57-year-old woman found dead inside Grand Concourse building in Bronx

CONCOURSE VILLAGE, Bronx (WABC) -- Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 57-year-old woman who was found with injuries to her head and torso inside a Bronx apartment building Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a 911 call for an unconscious woman inside 1236 Grand Concourse in Concourse Village around 3:30 p.m., according to police.

When officers arrived, they found the woman unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to her head and torso.

EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Police have not released the woman's identity, pending notification of her family.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities have not released additional details about what may have led to the woman's death.
