57-year-old woman found dead inside Grand Concourse building in the Bronx

CONCOURSE VILLAGE, The Bronx (WABC) -- Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman who was found with injuries to her head and torso inside a Bronx apartment building Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a 911 call for an unconscious woman inside 1236 Grand Concourse in Concourse Village around 3:30 p.m., according to police.

When officers arrived, they found 57-year-old Josefa Soto de Carmen unresponsive with trauma to her head and torso in a unit on the fifth floor.

EMS responded and pronounced her dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police have not said whether the victim lived there.

There is no word from investigators on a possible motive or suspect.
