John Bernthal discusses path to acting ahead of 'Dog Day Afternoon' Broadway debut

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Audiences know the movie and now "Dog Day Afternoon" is coming to life on the Broadway stage.

The play stars Jon Bernthal who is booked and busy.

From your TV screens in shows like "The Bear," "His and Hers," and "The Punisher," to the August Wilson Theater, it's been quite a year for him.

He'll also be seen in two highly anticipated movies later this year -- Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" and "Spider-Man: Brand New Day."

But for now, he's focused on his Broadway debut, which he's making alongside his "The Bear" co-star and friend Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

He says it's a full circle moment.

He talked to entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo about the show and so much more in the video player above.
