1 injured when garage, retaining wall collapse in the Bronx
WAKEFIELD, Bronx (WABC) -- One person was injured when a garage collapsed in the Bronx.
The one-car garage was outside a home on East 228th Street between Bronx Boulevard and Carpenter Avenue in the Wakefield Section.
Officials say the person was working on the garage Monday afternoon when the roof and a retaining wall came down.
The Department of Buildings says an individual performing "unpermitted demolition operations" was transported to an area hospital where they're expected to recover.
