BX rodeo where rider was injured by bull had no permit, city says

BAYCHESTER, Bronx (WABC) -- New York City's Health Department says the rodeo in the Bronx where a man was injured last night did not have a permit.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was slammed to the ground at the show Monday night in Baychester.

That's when the bull charged him, causing cuts to his face.

An off-duty EMT provided aid until an ambulance arrived. The injured rider was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi where he's recovering.

Under the New York City Health Code, certain exhibitions involving animals require a permit from the Health Department's Veterinary Public Health Services program.
