17-year-old boy fatally shot in East New York, Brooklyn
EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- An investigation is underway after a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in Brooklyn on Wednesday.
Police say the shooting happened at 514 New Lots Ave. in East New York around 8:20 p.m.
They say the teen was shot in the head.
He was taken to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
No further details have been provided, and it's not clear what led up to the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
Less than a half mile away, also in East New York, two teenage girls, including a 13-year-old and 15-year-old, were stabbed.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. at 817 Van Siclen Ave.
Both the girls were taken to Brookdale in stable condition.
Police told Eyewitness News that the shooting and stabbing are believed to be unrelated at this time.
